  • Sense (and the lack thereof)

“You can have the best personality in the world, you can have the greatest character in the world,” Mr. Biden said, “but if you’re not going to give me a fighting chance to be able to keep my job, I love you but I don’t want you as my president”.  Amen, Mr. Biden.

Please, people. PLEASE!!  Get out and vote, but get INFORMED before you do.  The republican's have said this election is "not about issues."  Seriously? SERIOUSLY????  It's about character and biography??? REALLY???  That's going to do a lot to help my pay my bills, allow me the right to choose what I do to my own body, keep church separated from state and stop them from drafting my young son into the armed forces some day, when he's forced into a war that should never have happened in the first place, isn't it????

I almost can't take this election anymore.  After two previous elections that proved Americans are IDIOTS and don't learn their lesson....I just can't fathom how Mr. McCain and Ms. Palin are being cheered for their "plans" for this country.  It makes me sick to my stomach.

Sorry for the blatant political opinoin, but I couldn't keep it in anymore.  I had to place my purge somewhere, and today, xanga won.

    EDIT:

Apparantly my rant is not over yet.  I just read one of the featured blogs asking if this election actually comes down to the abortion issue and I about lost my mind.

No one, NO ONE has the right to tell me what to do with my own body.  People need to WAKE UP and realize that pro-choice is NOT pro-abortion.  RELIGION has NO PLACE in government.  We fought a WAR over this - it is what America is ROOTED in.  It is why so many people scattered from England in hopes of freedom of belief here.

Not only should this NOT be what this election comes down to, it shouldn't even be PART of politics in the first place.  Christians should start acting like Christians and "loving thy neighbor" regardless of what their own personal beliefs may be.  It is so hypocritical.  For the record, I grew up Catholic - 16 years of Catholic school in fact, including my college.  And I would never NEVER force anyone to believe what I believe (which, by the way, means I am against abortion.  FOR ME.  For what I will teach my children.   For what I will argue is a better choice.  But it should remain A CHOICE.)

You can think I'm ignorant or stupid for thinking people have the right to a choice, but you see, that is the beauty of America.  RIGHTS TO OPINION AND CHOICE.  Just as you can think that of me, I'm entitled to think anyone who buys into the current McCain/Palin BS has clearly lost their mind or spent their years on the short bus.

Apologies to the many people I'm sure I offended for having my own opinion and believing you're entitled to yours - and that this country is great by ALLOWING us to not only believe but PRACTICE those beliefs.  I'm a bit worked up over the RNC last night and all the lies that were spewed about the opposing party.

*sigh* ok, I'm going to go take a chill pill now.....

  • I really can't think of anything to add - you said it all!

  • you sumed it up for me!

No more McSame!  Palin is the worst - a woman against woman if there ever was one.

  • I personally would not choose abortion but I'll be damned if the goverment tells me what I can or can't do. That's all I'm saying about political stuff!

  • You summed it up, I can't vote yet as I'm not yet a citizen but OMFG I wish I was already. This election year has been so crazy already. The boy's family is mostly republican and that's just weird... Thank god they don't live near here and we never talk politics.

  • Amen, Epo.

I think this is the most bizarre presidential race ever.  I mean, the candidates...the possibilities...it's boggling.  Usually it's all pretty cut and dry, but this time... wow.  I just don't know!

  • Hey! *waves*

Not sure if you're running in the marathon this year, but I wish you the best of luck if you are!

Take care, and I hope you're well.

And I completely agree with everything you've posted here. Regardless of my own feelings about abortion, I don't have the right to pummel my thoughts onto anyone else's body--and neither does the government. Why people seemingly have a hard time understanding this concept...it will always amaze me, and not in a good way. The second that people's choices to live their own lives is removed, we might as well just say America was a failed experiment and sell the country to the highest bidder and let them become the next top superpower.

  • I have my own beliefs about abortion, but I personally don't think a vote should EVER be centered around abortion. No one is going to be able to overturn R v W even if they wanted to. It's just not going to happen, people won't allow it.

Other than that, I agree that some people are voting for all the wrong reasons.
