Sucks to Get Old
I am swamped at work today, but I had to share....wow. This is Eric Nies, resident hottie at the time, from the VERY first REAL WORLD on MTV. Apparantly, they just had a reunion. It's been something like 16 years. Getting old sucks. Granted he doesn't look awful, but he sure looks different. What's with the compass necklace? Does he get lost often in his old age? What's even more depressing is apparantly he's MY age. I get to attend my 20 year high school reunion next year and now I'm thinking it might be better just to plan to clean out my sock drawer that day. Either that or hide in my laundry basket or something....I don't know if I want to damage my visual memories like this - nor do I want to damage those of people who might have actually thought I looked good back then. I think I'm going to just take my wrinkles and bags, find that laundry basket and cling to the undisturbed memories...

NOW:

Whoa. What happened to the hottie??!
High school reunions are kind of moot now. I can track everyone's business on myspace, facebook and the many other online communities. The whole point is to catch up and see where everyone is in life and now you don't even have to be there in person to do that. I say do laundry and keep your memories as they are.
Let's tie him down and shave him.
@mudwoman1326 - LOL!!!!!!!! I love you. What an awesome idea....*grin*......
@Eponine2 - I think he will still be hot...just as long as he's not so hairy!
Yes, it does suck to get old....but me, personally, I know I look BETTER now than I did in high school. I don't know what you looked like back then, but you look GREAT now. Go to that reunion! If you don't, you'll regret it.
And celebrities don't always age so well, you know. I just saw some pics of Melissa Joan Hart in a magazine, and she looks older than me, in spite of being SEVERAL years younger.
well, even if he DOES get lost in his wanderings, he could do worse. I attended my 30th reunion a few years ago (under coercion) and was staggered by the changes. I was the fat butterball kid, frequent target of the jocks when they needed some sport and often subject to ridicule from most of the girls. As a result, I sort of separated myself from them, and hung out with kids who were at least as weird as I. At the reunion almost everything was reversed. I recognized only a few faces and was recognized in turn by virtually none. I get quite a lot of visitors to my Classmates.com page, and those that leave a message pretty universally say that they don't remember me.
Yeah, it does suck to get old, but it could be worse!!!!!!!! LOL
