ELEVEN Planets?? HUH??
Alright, so it's been years since I sat in a little school desk and memorized the names of the planets....and since then, thanks to daily web browsing, I vaguely remember reading something about Pluto losing it's status as a planet....but I distinctly remembered the number NINE being the number of planets in the solar system.
Apparantly, I am wrong. There are eleven.
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Eris.
HUH? I am seriously confused. Ceres? Eris? And Pluto is still on the list?? Whaaa?
Apparantly, today's count stands as follows:

well...this is all news to me as well. I know..I always feel somewhat stupid when my third grade daughter comes home and rattles off stuff that even *I* didn't remember ever learning.....
oy, what's gonna be the mnemonic for that??
well the saying is true. you DO learn something every day!
Hmm, though they are on the graphic, Ceris, Eris and Pluto don't appear on the listing below where it lists the planets, and they also aren't on the search bar on the left hand side...so are they really planets or just under consideration of being planets?
Whoa, I feel so lost that I did not know this avid stargazer that I try to be.
Thanks for the update!!
Huh-uh-uh-huh! You said "Your anus". Huh-uh-uh-huh!
